Sometimes during the weekend, Bryce and I go to Barnes & Noble and just walk around. It’s fun. I LOVE walking around and browsing!
On our most recent trip, Bryce got caught up in the graphic novel section (which we all know is just a fancy word for comics). So I left him because I didn’t want to just stand around looking silly and ventured into a section I never went to before.
The cook books!
And I found such cute things. Would you believe they weren’t related to cupcakes or doughnuts at all?? I know. Amazing.
I actually found books about preparing creative (and super cute) bentos! For those of you who don’t know what a bento is, it’s basically a home cooked meal that is packed in little containers common in Japanese cuisine. What usually goes into a bento is rice and some sort of protein along with cooked or pickled vegetables. Sounds boring right? They usually are. But look what I found!
Isn’t it just the cutest thing ever? Could you eat those? I’m not entirely sure I’d be able to.
There’s also this one for the cartoon lover:
When I showed Bryce these books I told him I’d totally make these for our kids. And he said, “Hey what about me??” He’s such a big kid, which I love about him. I said if we were married now I might consider it. 😛
Jokes like those are common among us, but I think it’s funny how we think about these things (like having kids) when it won’t be happening for years. I love it though.
And I’m loving these bento books. Check them out if you want to liven up your daily lunches!

OMG! I’ve seen this before! Er. Not this in particular. But the whole concept! There even was a mom who had million of different bento boxes and who quit her job so she could stay home and take care of the kids, and she spents half her morning (getting up at like 3 or 4) making and preparing different lunches for the kids!!!
I LOVE this.
I also read about a FATHER who does this for his kid as well! so cute!

WOW. I’d be impressed with any guy who could pull this off. Especially if he made it for me :-P.
I don’t think I’d get up early to make a bento for anyone, but I’d do it the night before. 🙂
My mom actually used to make really big bentos for my dad and she would deliver it to him wherever he was. Talk about having it easy LOL.
